Comigo is filling edible oil at high speed

In the Brazilian edible oil market, PET bottles are gaining in popularity and more and more replacing the metal cans used hitherto. The producer Comigo has installed its first PET filling line in a new hall at the Rio Verde plant in the state of Goias, where they refine approximately 170 tons of soybean oil per day.
Comigo have ordered from Krones an entire filling line rated at 30,000 bph for non-returnable PET bottles with a volume of 900 ml for edible oil. The line comprises a Sensometic VPGW weight filler, a high-speed wrap-around labeller Contiroll HS, a new-generation Accutable buffer, and a Wrapapac wrap-around packer and a Pressant Compact palletiser for end-of-the-line packaging. This is the second Krones line for the Brazilian edible oil market, together with the line commissioned four years ago at the vegetable oil producer ADM.
One fresh addition to Krones’ product portfolio is the Modulpal single-column palletiser, which supersedes a majority of the Pressant and Robot ranges. The Modulpal family utilises robot technology and is equipped with servo-drive systems in all functional areas. Thanks to its flexibly selectable gripper systems, this new series of palletiser meets all the requirements involved for versatility in coping with new-style jobs. Depending on the version concerned, the output is up to 600 layers an hour.
