Washing-up liquid in PET bottles
That’s the solution adopted by the Hygiene Division of the Brazilian Friboi Group, which commissioned a complete bottling line from Krones, comprising a Sensometic VPGW weighing filler. With its cleaning agents and washing-up liquids, Friboi takes second place in this segment of the Brazilian market.
The Sensometic VPGW bottles still products on the gravity principle. Non-conductive products, in particular, can be handled to optimum effect using the weighing cells integrated at the bottle plates. Thanks to the upward-closing filling valves, the product flows gently into the bottle during the closing function – thus ensuring that filling is terminated without accelerating the product jet and without subsequent dripping.
In the Sensometic VPGW filling system, the ring bowl is filled with product from the bottom. The container is passed through the infeed starwheel to the bottle plate. Handling parts specifically adjusted to match the container position the bottle directly below the tubeless filling valve, but without actually touching it. Before every filling operation, the weighing cell determines the empty weight of each individual container, whereupon the electro-pneumatically controlled filling valve will open. The product flows into the bottle and the return air escapes from the bottle-neck directly into the atmosphere. As soon as the weighing cell measures the preprogrammed fill quantity in the container, the valve stem is closed, ensuring high fill volume accuracy. The weighing cells are designed as compact, quick-change units. The discharge starwheel then transports the filled bottle to the closer, where a dosing closure is applied.
