The Volumetic VOC can filler is designed for filling still juices and carbonated soft drinks at Coca Cola Amatil in North Mead, Australia. Krones also supplied a Sander Hansen pasteuriser, a Contiflow mixer, and a CIP system. The can filler is designed for an output of 72,000 cans per hour.
Pre-dosing of the filling quantity in a dosing tank allows for high filling accuracy and high speeds, as the filling process is not affected by product foaming or bubbling. The filled quantity can be adjusted, e.g., due to temperature-specific density changes, throughout the filler or in individual filling valves, even during the filling process. Another advantage, besides the high output, is, among other things, the quick changeover of the system: Product and can are changed in the control system and therefore, conversions at the filling valve are not required. The filler handles all standard can sizes and formats and can also be employed for future hotfill tasks.
