Juice bottling – high requirements for cleaning technology

The Bavarian producer of direct juice ORO in Rohrdorf near Rosenheim nowadays produces around 4.5 million fills containing somewhat more than 4 million litres of fruit juices a year, and is thus one of the smaller fruit juice companies around.
Here – as everywhere – quality has top priority, and it starts with a clean returnable bottle.
Mould and beverage residues, something not uncommon in the fruit-juice sector, place stringent demands on the performance of a bottle washer. This is why ORO is using a Krones Lavatec KESK for cleaning the brown 1-l bottles. The machine is designed for an output of 7,000 bph and meets all requirements of the fruit juice producer concerning efficiency of the cleaning process and cost-effectiveness. With pre-soak zone, high-pressure pre-jetting and internal spraying with hot caustic, the machine is specially designed for fruit juice bottles. It discharges the clean juice bottles with a temperature of 85 °C – another distinctive feature. This allows for direct connection of the washer to the filler. Bottle pre-heating is not required.
