Compact brewhouse in modularised design
Can-do brewing technology for small brew sizes – Krones now offers a compact brewhouse in frame construction, in the shape of the Steinecker CombiCube B. This concept, dimensioned for a capacity of up to 150,000 hl a year, is ideally suited for small and mid-tier breweries, and for large breweries with specialty beers. And the field-proven Steinecker technology is being used, of course, familiar from the large vessels the firm manufactures: the agitator of the mash tun, the design of the heating surfaces in Shakesbeer, the Stromboli venturi jet for the wort boiling process, and the Pegasus raking blades.
Depending on the mashing process selected, modular-design vessels are combined as a 3-unit or 4-unit combination in a frame construction. The vessels involved, with diameters of between 2.5 and 3.5 meters, can be used as a mash tun, a mash/wort copper, a lauter tun or a mash/lauter tun, and complemented by the whirlpool. Thus the entire brewhouse process is provided on a conveniently small footprint of approximately 110 m².
For its users, Steinecker’s CombiCube B provides numerous advantages:
- Small quantities of particular specialty beers can be produced in optimum quality at maximised cost-efficiency, thanks to the design focus on brew sizes of between 50 and 100 hl.
- The gentle, efficient brewing technologies involved for mashing and wort boiling can thus also be used for breweries with a low output.
- Thanks to its compact construction, the CombiCube brewhouse can be integrated on a conveniently small footprint.
- The Botec Classic process control system provides automatic control of all process steps, enabling the brewhouse to be run by just a single operator.
