New certification as a Krones Automation Engineer
Markus Wilhelm, Course Manager at Krones, seen handing Vanneson Moodley from Sedibeng/Heineken, South Africa, his certificate as a Krones Automation Engineer.
The Krones Academy has since the beginning of 2009 been offering a training package called “Krones Automation Engineer”. This hands-on course is aimed at reducing downtimes, and is modularised in structure. It ends with certification as a “Krones Automation Engineer”.
Know-how for trouble-shooting
The course is intended for electrical engineering specialists like line electronics or mechatronics technicians who already possess knowledge of Krones machines. The course is designed to inculcate holistic comprehension of how the control elements in a machine interact. “With this know-how, malfunctions can be corrected and minimised faster”, says Markus Wilhelm, Course Manager for Automation and IT Solutions at Krones.
Participant from South Africa
Vanneson Moodley, Head of the Automation Department at Sedibeng/Heineken in South Africa, for example, has already gained certification as a Krones Automation Engineer. After 12 to 15 days of training on subjects like
- Step 7 Krones,
- Emergency package solution,
- B&R Automation,
- Network technology MES,
Moodley practised on a Krones training machine. Malfunction scenarios from actual practice were simulated. Following a practical examination, the South African participant was awarded the relevant certificate.
Complete package or individual modules
The course package consists of standard modules from the Training Catalogue. Depending on the knowledge level of the participant concerned, they can be booked either individually or in their entirety as a block event. Course Manager Markus Wilhelm recommends the second variant: “Only a simultaneous combination of the courses produces maximum benefits. You get a better understanding of how everything interacts in a machine.”
All courses are held in Neutraubling, Germany and in the LCS centres worldwide.
